The Liguus of South Florida and the Florida Keys
The southernmost areas of the Florida peninsula, including the Florida

All of the described subspecies, color forms and varieties are listed and shown, grouped
according to Pilsbry's work, on photo webpages as part of this website.

Pilsbry which in turn is a synthesis of his earlier work, Simpsons work,
McGintys work and the work of William Clench. The work is revised to include new
discoveries, descriptions post 1946 and some correction as a result of newer information.

DISCUSSION AND INFORMATION
At the end of each photo page there is a discussion section which lists
Type locality, Holotype number and depository, Paratype number and depository
and Description publication information for each taxa on that page. An abbreviation

Note: The easy way out of taxonomic
uncertainties is to place all of the Florida Liguus into
one species, Liguus fasciatus, with an alphabetical list of unrelated color forms.
Your choice; use the above grouping (Pilsbry) or use a list of color forms.
