The Liguus
of Cuba, adjacent Keys
and Isle of Pines
The island of Cuba has one of the most varied population of land and arboreal snails in the world. The Liguus tree snails of the island comprise the largest number of species, subspecies and color forms under this genus. This listing of the described Cuban Liguus species and subspecies are listed and shown, according to Jaume's and Clench's work, on photo webpages as part of this website.
This listing is based upon the work of Miguel L. Jaume and Dr. William Clench.
The listing is not intended as a taxonomic critique or analysis, it is an annotated catalog of
the known and described species and subspecies of the Cuban Liguus.
Corrections as a result of newer information is most welcome.

1- All spellings have been verified via several lists and checking
etymology of names against the personal name spelling and the
spelling of locality ie. Termino municipal de Trinidad - trinidad(ense)
for Liguus fasciatus trinidadense.
2- Those names indicating; (not yet verified), will be, soon, I hope,
verified against other lists from the Museum Circulars and lists or
catalogs issued by William Clench.
3- The name of the Province of Las Villas is synonymous
with Santa Clara.
Many Liguus were described/named before the name
